Menu Change for The Olive Mass Fundraising DinnerPosted: September 06, 2016 | Author: jhansbrough
I am currently in Italy with Gus Lloyd and over 100 fans of Sirius XM and the Grace Before Meals movement, and in time for the canonization of Mother Teresa of Calcutta! Things are busy, to say the least. So consider this week's Food for the Soul a "quick bite" as I have an important update for those looking to join us down in New Orleans on September 26 for The Olive Mass. The special Table Foundation fundraising dinner, to be hosted at the Best New Restaurant in the U.S., Shaya, has been rescheduled from Monday, September 26 at 6:30pm to Sunday, September 25 at 7:00pm.
Alon Shaya, head chef and namesake of Shaya, pays tribute to his native Israel through his amazing cuisine.
This was done after much prayerful consideration following the recent floods, Presidential Debate set for that Monday evening, and yes, Monday Night Football between the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons. We want to make sure that all feel free and excited to come out to experience food and faith in a brand new way, so we hope you will make your way out to this sure-to-be incredible meal. It is an opportunity to meet some of the top Chefs in the country and to support The Table Foundation as it continues its mission to use the power of food to spread the Gospel.
The Olive Mass itself is still Monday, September 26 at 10am at St. Louis Cathedral, followed by a reception at the Ursuline Convent nearby. Both are free to attend, so please RSVP this week as we work with the Archdiocese of New Orleans to prepare for the special Mass, along with Chef John Besh's team and special guests Chefs for Peace, who are collaborating to finalize the menu.
A picture I took while at the canonization of Mother Teresa. What a great experience honoring te memory of an incredible woman, now officially a saint.
In honor of Mother Teresa being canonized a saint, I wanted to offer a prayerful thought, as I have been in Rome for the celebrations. Here is a video of just one of my many experiences of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta and her wonderful Missionaries of Charity Sisters and Brothers. St. Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us!Categories:
