Welcoming a New Family Member!

Posted: November 04, 2016 | Author: Fr. Leo

Apparently, this has been a great week for my Project Manager, Joe Hansbrough. He's a Chicago sports fan, so not only did the Chicago Cubs win their first World Series since 1908 (!), but his Chicago Bears (or as SNL calls them, "Da Bears") won on Monday Night. Plus, being that he's a nerd, he's excited about the new Marvel movie "Dr. Strange" coming out. But the actual big deal is that on Halloween, he and his wife Erica welcomed into the world their third child, Maximilian Joseph!

The Hansbrough family with their newest addition, Max!

Mommy and baby Max are home and doing great, and his siblings, Grace and Josh, are ridiculously excited to have a new baby brother. The baby is aptly named for St. Maximilian Kolbe, modern saint and martyr, as well as one of my favorites, St. Joseph, Protector of the Holy Family, Patron of the Universal Church, workers, fathers, and the dying, among many other designations. So please join me in congratulating my Project Manager Joe, who is 1/4 Filipino, 1/4 comic book nerd, and the rest just lucky to have Erica and his cute kids!

Mommy holding baby Max. What a blessing!

While he takes some time off, things don't slow down, as more great things are coming soon. Next week, a special Thanksgiving episode of "Cooking for One" will premiere, aptly called "Thanksgiving for Two".

Preview of next week's recipes on my webshow "Cooking for One": Bacon wrapped Turkey breast, mashed potato, and Brussel sprout Casserole.

And if the Cubs winning the World Series is any indicator, maybe the Second Coming is around the corner! Of course, I'm kidding about the correlation. But we never know...

After 108 years, it would be easy to think it would never happen. But congrats to the Cubs! Maybe the Orioles can follow suit next year...

We pray for a great weekend, that God guides our country on Election Day next week, and that we continue to strengthen our family life and culture through our fidelity, love, and hope in God and one another.

Let Us Pray

Dear Father in Heaven, we thank you for blessing the Hansbroughs with a safe delivery and wonderful baby Max. May he look to You and the saints he is named after for guidance in life. We ask St. Maximilian Kolbe, Patron of families; St. Joseph, Patron of fathers and unborn children; and Mary, our Holy Mother, for their intercession for this child and for all families in this world. We ask that You bless those in need of prayers, especially those who have faced loss or suffering recently. Bless us all oh Lord that we may be counted among your faithful and bring peace into this world.Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
