I get a ton of emails from people who say the nicest and sometimes funniest things.
For example this one from a Mission that I recently gave at Holy Family Church in Davidsonville, MD.

Dear Fr. Leo
Just wanted to let you know how much my son and I enjoy your talk tonight at our Parish mission. Also, thank you fr signing our apron and signing my son Jake’s hand. It was wonderful to celebrate Saturday night mass with you also. My son and I lit the Advent wreath that night. Thank you again for inspiring us and sharing your passion with us.
God Bless
Nancy
And, this one from the Fritz Family -
Father Leo,
Thank you so much for coming on Saturday. Your company was enjoyed by all. Next time you can cook!! Hopefully you will be back with some seminarians and vocation guys for a cooking episode. The Parish mission is awesome!
Love of Christ,
Teresa

And this one really made my day, and cracked me up too!
Greetings Fr. Leo!
We have been praying for you and I’m so excited to see how the Grace Before Meals movement is taking off! We didn’t have cable back when you had the cookoff, so Fr. Tim (McKeown) stopped by the other day with a copy of the show. So amazing! You were awesome!
We are having a shift at our parish. Our pastor suddenly resigned last week. This morning our Bishop was at our church and announced we would be getting a new pastor, but not before Christmas. On the way home, as we were discussing this with the boys, I heard ten-year-old Elliott (Fr. Tim’s godson!) muttering “Please be Fr. Leo. Please be Fr. Leo.” We had to explain that it would not be you. (They loved meeting you and really enjoyed watching the cookoff, and especially seeing the Mount in the footage.)

I’m getting bad with responding to all the emails, but please know that I appreciate your comments, notes, and encouragement. For more fun, be sure to join my facebook page. Just click on the facebook icon on the home page!
Peace!

Dear Father Leo,
Just wanted to say thanks you for such an awesome Mission at Holy Family Church in Davidsonville this past week. My husband , Bo, {the German guy} who is not Catholic loved it and cant stopped talking about the funny parts and the messages behind them. He has already figured out how to tape the Food Network show for next week and believe me to learn how to tape anything was a task!
Our daughter, Tania, {22 yrs old} who has stopped going to church {off and on}, also, was very moved by your talk. May I ask you to , please, pray for her..
God bless, Seida
Posted by Fr. Leo on December 15th, 2009 at 11:34 am.Hi Fr. Leo!
My family and I caught your interview on CBS Sunday morning a few weeks back (which is our usual Sunday morning ritual). It looks like you really enjoy what you do and was intrigued enough to checkout your website – and also did a bit of shopping.
I thought your cookbook would make a great gift for Christmas for some members of my family.
I have some members that have been following a low-cal, fat-free wieght loss program and was wondering if you have a “low-cal” book in the future? This would certainly be a hit with them/us.
If you’re ever in Connecticut or if I am traveling in you’re neck of the woods, I’d would like very much to see you in person – catch one of your shows/programs – they seem very fun and entertaining.
Best regards

Question: Why on earth don’t you sell Fr. Leo Videos???
I bought the book & apron for my mom, but I would have also loved to buy a
DVD series. The book is nice, but the real energy and sell power is in
watching Fr. Leo on camera. Hopefully, I’m preaching to the Choir and you’re
already in the process of developing DVDs for sale… (By X-mas, perhaps?)
Think about it. And please let me know when/where/if DVDs are available.

I’m 63 years old, married and retired. My husband and I live in Reseda, CA (zip code 91335) and we have one daughter who is a history major at UCLA. My daughter has grown up watching me cook from scratch with pressure cookers. I have three four quart pressure cookers and two six quart pressure cookers. I’d like to see college students learn how to cook from scratch using pressure cookers. Since my daughter was born I’ve gone through a second childhood (I’ve been growing up again together with my daughter) and have noticed many college students don’t know the basics about cooking.

I am an avid fan of the CBS Sunday Morning Show and I watched the segment about you. You have a wonderful spirit and ability to share your faith while you cook. I also saw your “Throw Down” with Bobby Flay. I wish you had a show on the Food Network.
Thank you so much for sharing the importance of family, food and prayer. I have requested your cookbook for Christmas.
In Peace,
Julie Mortenson
Posted by Fr. Leo on December 15th, 2009 at 11:43 am.Father Leo – My husband and I were so inspired by your segment on Sunday Morning! Our children are grown with young children of their own and I would love to share your inspiration with them in the form of a DVD as a Christmas gift. Have you made one? I could not find one on your website. We would love to see your show broadcast in northern California where we love! One enthusiastic message from you reaches more powerfully than even the best traditional homily at Sunday Mass. Thanks so much for sharing your gift!! Mike and Mary Jacobson
Posted by Fr. Leo on December 15th, 2009 at 11:44 am.Good Morning Father Leo-We, my wife and I just watched the segment of you on Sunday Morning News!
We really loved it!! I would like to get your cookbook for my wife for Christmas and I am one that likes to get a little extra in all that I do! I want to ask you if you would autograph one of your books for her??
Her name is Kim Martin and she and I both enjoy cooking in the kitchen. In fact, this evening we will make one of your recipes!!
If this request is something that you can accommodate, I would be very grateful and I know she would treasure the book!! Trust me, I will make a big deal about it at Christmas!!
Just let me know what to do next.
Thanks for considering….a new fan!! Monte

I am 37 and ended up in your website searching for “awesome emails”
My life has been a roller coaster; God help has kept me around until now and blessed too.
I have no idea what to do with my life. I want to move from my hometown because I feel burned out and yes it’s my fault plus most of the people I know are very successful.
I know god called me when I was 27 in a dream, but I turned Him down because I was scared.
Please pray for me and that God shows me the way to go and if I make a mistake that He sends me a Simon to redirect and that from now until my last breath I live thankful to Him for His love and blessins and love which I don’t deserve, but will always welcome and be a blessing to others family or non family.
Thank you,
Juan
