Ingredients:

1 package of Oreo cookies

1 large container of whipped cream

2 cups of creamed cheese

cocoa powder

chocolate pudding (optional)

Instructions:

Whip together cream cheese, whip cream, and cocoa powder.  Set aside.  Put Oreo cookies in a food processor and blend until they have the look and consistency of topsoil.  Be careful to not over process, you don’t want mush.  In a clear bowl or dish, layer bottom with the Oreo blend.  Top off with cream mixture and add layer of pudding.  Repeat until all of the ingredients are used.  It doesn’t have to be an even layering.  Have fun with this dessert that looks like dirt!

Even though you may not be able to share in this deliciously dirty recipe during Lenten Season, you can keep this one on file for your Easter celebration; the reward for all are willing to enter into these next forty days.  And yes, for those who have grace, these days are not bummers, but blessings.

  • I’ve made this for my kids for years, and they love it!! I add two ingredients to my version though…artificial flowers and gummy worms! (Obviously the flowers are for decorative purposes only!) For the kids, I often make individual portions in small clear plastic cups, the better to see the worms! They eat it up, literally!

  • Thanks for the recipe. I had it many years ago but lost it. This is a great recipe to make for someone disguised as a plant. Just make in a plastic bowl or some container that looks like a planter, then top with a new, clean (wash to make sure) fake plant. You will probably have to tell people it is edible. You might even have to take a bite first to convince them, but once they taste it, they’ll be amazed! It’s delicious!!!

  • you could use new, washed, small clay pots and put a staw in the middle and insert a real flower in the straw.
