img_0096With all of the preparations completed – food cooked, decorations aglow, and presents wrapped.  The only thing left to do was to celebrate Christmas Eve Mass and then go to my parent’s home for a big Christmas Eve dinner and gift exchange.  I’ll tell you more about the menu, especially the 7 dishes that I’m preparing for a  BIG Christmas Day Dinner at my brother’s house – with family and friends from all over!  It should be a wonderful time, filled with family, food, faith and fun!

From my family to yours and to all of our Grace Before Meals Family and Friends, I wish you a very blessed Christmas!

  • Our family spent Christmas Day at my brother’s house. His wife is from the Philipines, so it was a combination of Australian and Filipino food.

  • So, what was served: Kangaroo filled lumpia? or “veggie mite” adobo? Australian / Filipino cuisine sounds interesting!

  • Well not really! Maybe I should have said a choice of Australian and Filipino food, not a combination of the two!

The Filipino food was a noodle dish and the Australian food was sort of ordinary but good; salad, cold roast chicken, pasta salad and soft drinks. As you probably realize, it can be very hot at Christmas in Australia and a hot cooked meal would not be really appreciated at that time of the year.

Father Leo, we have something really nice in Australia: a desert called pavlova (a meringue cake), filled with whipped cream and decorated with fruit pieces. No one should miss out on this particular desert. As soon as my kitchen renovations are finished, it will be one of the first things that I will try to make. Father Leo, I hope that you look it up on the internet and then make a video (of you making one) for your website.
