Welcome (Back) to our Website!

Whenever the Food Network re-broadcasts the Steak Fajita Throw Down with Bobby Flay, I usually receive a bunch of wonderful and encouraging emails and face book friends.  It’s so excellent to hear from all of you! It really does touch my heart to know (1) people care about our movement and (2) there are still so many more people who may be encouraged to hear about the Grace Before Meals message.

Finally, I know many people want the recipe for the Fusion Fajitas.  I am proud to say that we just entered into a great relationship with Double Day Books of New York City to publish the 3rd Edition of Recipes for Family Life, in which there will be new chapters, some new recipes, including the Fusion Fajitas, Guacamole, the Spicy Sour Cream Sauce as well as traditional Filipino Dishes from “mom’s kitchen” – such as pancit and chicken adobo with lemon grass and curry coconut milk!  Yes, true deliciousness to help bring the families back to the dinner table.  God willing book is due for release in the summer of 2010.  In the meantime, check out our other delicious recipes on line. I am confident these family friendly recipes can help satisfy the hungers until the fajita recipe is released to the hungry flock!

As I said, it’s great to hear from you. So, ff you want to leave messages, simply do so directly on the website, or you can contact me through my Facebook Friend Page. Also, many people invite me to come and give presentations at parishes, Dioceses, or group events. If interested, simply contact Joe Condit at www.cmgbooking.com for more details.

  • Father Leo,
Tonight I watched the broadcast on the FoodNetwork, and it was fantastic! I couldn’t wait to look up your website and find out more about Grace Before Meals. I signed up for your weekly news via email and look forward to learning more from you.

I’m a widow, raising a daughter who just turned 13. I know the importance of sitting with her to talk, especially in the approaching teen years. We have found that the kitchen really is the heart of our home! This past month we attended a chocolate candy making demonstration at a local candy supply store, and needless to say, we spent time preparing treats for family and friends for Christmas. My daughter Yesenia said, “Mom, its not about the gifts, its about spending time together”…..which I thought was so insightful. I am truly blessed. My late husband was Filipino, and his mom is an EXCELLENT cook…oh my gosh, her daughters tease her that she is the Filipino Martha Stewart! Always an abundance of good food, good times and family at her home.

You have a wonderful ministry. God’s blessings be upon you!
    Sincerely,
    Christine Perez

  • I just watched your Throwdown with Bobby Flay and loved your approach to life and cooking and grace. I googled you through Grace Before Meals and none of your videos worked. Thought you should know.
May God Bless you. You have such a fun spirit I’m sure the Lord is working through you big time.

  • Fr. Leo,

My husband and I just watched your throw-down on Food Network: it was awesome!!! This movement of yours is so close to my heart.

I tried to find your fan-page on Facebook, and I don’t think you have one. I’ve started getting the word out for you, but I’m wondering if you’ve thought about creating a Facebook fan page?

Please consider, as I think it could be a terrific (free) way of getting the word out about this awesome movement of bringing families closer together. :) (I know that my Diocese even has a fan page and group!!)

Thank you and God bless you,

    Kelly Bailey

  • Hello Fr. Leo:

A good friend of mine, Linda Roura ( I call her my God Mother) just sent me a write up about you and your fantastic missionary.

I really enjoyed reading it and will log on to your website! I agree with your philosophy that meals bring families together. I’ll add to your comment “a family that prays & eats together, stays together”!

What inspired you to write your cookbook? Was it difficult to get published? How did you learn to write a book?
I can’t wait to pick up your two books.

I have a teenager who I am trying to keep close to my husband and I, rather than staying on the computer or texting friends. I have found that if she and I prepare meals together she enjoys it and we all can enjoy our meals together. If it is only her who prepares it, then it is less motivating for her. It is even more of a Blessing when we can use Blessed Salt too.

I am so impressed and proud of you with your insights! It is Great when God works within each of us. Catholic teens must not be lost. It is so important for many Priests and spiritual leaders to find better ways to reach to Parrishioners , especially teens. Being in San Antonio, I remember my daughter wanting to attend a bible study class with one of her friends, it was at a non denominal Christian church. I thought great, she has shown an interest. Anyways, I went to drop her off and to my amazement there were hundreds of kids there for a weds. Evening Bible Class. Something was wrong with the picture at our Catholic church when only 60 kids show up. That Christian church found a fun way to get kids together. 1.5 hours doing fun activites, with a 30 minute bible study.

I am glad for what you are doing, bringing families closer together and in prayer. Please let me know if you are ever in San Antonio TX.

  • Fr. Leo, any way you can get Food Network to post the video of the episode on its website or Hulu?

  • Dear Father Leo,

My wife and I watch the food channel, but the show with you and Bobby Flay was a breath of fresh air!

As a fellow cook or restaurateur (retired at a young age, a long story, but a happy ending) , my wife and I live in Vero Beach, Florida, a very quiet, peaceful and yes sometimes boring beach town in Central Florida.

We actually attend two different churches here, St Helens on the mainland, and the other, Holly Cross, on the barrier Island, it depend on how we are feeling or are doing on Sunday morning… Father Murphy at Holy Cross tends to be a bit more colorful in these times!

My wife and would like nothing more than to hear one of your sermons in person, and of course have one of your meals. A trip to Baltimore or DC is always a treat…

Better yet it would be great to have you visit Vero Beach, sometime in the future… My house is very “Chef” friendly and our community would be honored by a visit… If you are ever down this way. or could visit, my house (not as great as yours) would be open…
