Did you get your ashes? With Ash Wednesday kicking off Lent, we officially enter the 40 days of Lenten Pilgrimage through the desert, up the hill of Calvary and to the joy of celebrating Easter. Pilgrimage is about planning and preparing on how you're going to continue to grow in your faith after the 40 days of fasting are over. I'd like to offer an idea on how you can be a part of the ongoing pilgrimage experience by joining me on pilgrimage! I have several trips planned this year and next year, including one with Gus Lloyd and CatholicMatch.com.
But the one I'd like to personally invite you to is my trip to the Holy Land, where we will visit many remarkable places from the Bible itself.
The Sea of Galilee
You'll never read the Bible the same way again. As a theologian, former professor, pastoral leader, and tour leader for almost 20 years, I've made connections to locals and travel professionals who will guarantee you an experience like no other pilgrimage. We will walk in the footsteps of Jesus! We will see where His earthly life started, praying and eating, celebrating and learning, and growing in love for your faith along the way! Please join me on this amazing pilgrimage experience!
I had the incredible honor of celebrating Mass at the Tomb of Jesus.
So many people have LIFE CHANGING experiences after these trips. Pilgrims see their life, and even the season of Lent, as a joyful opportunity to grow closer to God.
During these 40 days, consider saving some money that you will have spent on more expensive groceries, dining out or other forms of entertainment. In other words, live a little more simply during the lenten season. Some of the money you save can be given DIRECTLY to the poor, and the rest can be used to pay for your trip – especially since “we” are spiritually poor. Don't feel guilty that you'd use some of your hard earned money as an investment to grow in your faith!

Also, if you speak with your pastor and your church can organize a small group of about 10 people to go, then I can provide some rebate money to your parish! It's a win-win situation.Your church group can have a trip of a life time and your church will also receive a donation just for participating in our trip!
Finally, as I've told so many people, I believe that we need to start making an 'investment' to grow in our faith. The family vacations are great, but how do they feed your soul and spiritual intelligence? Maybe it's time for the entire family to consider going on a pilgrimage instead of just a trip to the beach. I can assure you, my trips are like a vacation, study tour, spiritual retreat and culinary extravaganza all in one!

As we start the pilgrimage season of Lent, how about using this time to plan on actually going on a pilgrimage with me, the Plating Grace and The Table Foundation Family!

Let us Pray
From the opening prayer at Mass on Ash Wednesday
“Grant, O Lord, that we may begin with holy fasting this campaign of Christian service, so that, as we take up battle against spiritual evils, we may be armed with weapons of self-restraint. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
